1.     EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

1.1  Our Mission
The Green Thumb company offers a suitable solution for the marine problem in the sea with the “Narwhal” project which was born with the inspiration of “the unicorn of the sea”.  The mission of the company is that “environment comes first”. Thus, our team created the project with the sensitivity of the protection of the marine ecosystem including fish, plants, and microorganisms.

      1.2 The Company and Management
The Green Thumb company is headquartered in the city of Kayseri. The company owners are Hatice Demir, Mücahit Demirci, Ömer Faruk Arslan, Kübra Kurtoğlu, Melik Fırat Karaboğa, Harun Hesapçıoğlu. Mücahit has extensive knowledge about the marine ecosystem while Hatice and Ömer have worked on tech projects. Kübra, Melik, and Harun also have experience in management and sales.
All six owners will be taking on the management roles in the company. Additionally, we have assembled a board of advisors to provide business and management related ideas.

    1.3 Our Services
Our clients are the governments and non- governmental organizations who take responsibility to deal with sea pollution with the advantage of advanced technology. The Green Thumb company provides a unique service to clean the sea from the debris.

     1.4 The Market
There has been rapid in the investments on the technological approaches for the cleaning sea resources such as harbors, ocean, and sea since marine pollution is one of the urgent and global problems. Our market research has shown that there is a strong need in the market because the previous projects that have the same aims are not proper for sea cleaning. As a result of this, we will have a major portion of the market.

     1.5 Our Competitive Advantages
    While there are projects to clean the ocean and harbor such as Seabin Project and the Ocean Clean Up, there is no exact approach for sea pollution, which makes our project unique.
    The Green Thumb’s Narwhal project is energy neutral due to the butterfly inspired solar panels and, autonomous due to the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and benefited from the vessel monitoring system.
    Cleaning services are served without any damage on the sea creatures in an efficient way through an autonomous system.

    1.6 Financial Projection
Based on the size of our market and our defined market area, our sales projection for the first year is €300,000 (for each narwhal €3000). The salary for each of the co-owners will be €20.000. In addition, we aim to have commitments from over 5 ministries of finance of governments and, to build our client base through the newspaper and social media.
   

2.     PRODUCT / SERVICE DESCRIPTION

First of all, the working principle is that water is sucked in from the surface and passes through a catch bag inside the Narwhal system, with a water pump. After that, the water is then pumped back into the marina leaving litter and debris trapped in the catch bag.

We are going to assist customers to reduce plastic pollutants on their coasts in order not to harm marine species and the ecosystem of the world. In addition, our solution, Narwhal Cleaner, provides the opportunity of a clean and sustainable environment. Meanwhile, the project helps to reach the agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Solutions Network Goals. We are going to aiming to market Narwhal to many customers in different places such as governments, environmental foundations which dedicate themselves to impact on biodiversity, marine species positively. More dialogue and cooperation among global companies, regulators, investors, consumers, will be vital for gaining and sustaining the trust of the public.
Narwhal offers the customers an opportunity of green finance, environmental solutions in terms of cleaning waters. It is built the sustainable and advanced technologic equipment for cleaning, observing, analyzing everything in terms of pollution. Behind Narwhal, we as a team dedicated ourselves to decrease the catastrophic impacts of plastic pollutions on the surface of the water. Here Narwhal offers highly clean water not only citizens but also marine species as they deserve.
Our company members are coming from different departments such as computer science, industrial, mechanical, electrical engineers so we complete each other in the field that is the why our company ability is enough for the Narwhal Cleaner. Our company will be successful because there aren’t many competitors in the field and the existing ones are not enough to solve the pollution problem in the oceans.  If we contrast other devices The Narwhal, it has many advantages such as less human labor, eco-friendly, sustainable.

3.     INDUSTRY / MARKETPLACE ANALYSIS
It is important for entrepreneurs and businesses to know and analyze the industry and marketplace. That’s why firstly a project should be able to enter the marketplace and show the exact differences between the already existing projects. In Narwhal, it is aimed to combine the parts of other existing machines and develop them with using software programs. With our project:
·      Instead of just one special region, big parts of oceans and seas can be cleaned.
·      The system of cleaning ocean will be changed, much more effective, faster.
·      Narwhal will take its energy from the sun with solar panels which are never done before.
Our company will be head for a new kind of invention. It is never combined like our project to protect the nature and cleaning the seas.
Nowadays, the scientists are working so much on water. They are trying to find any possible solution to create energy from the water. If there will be a trend like creating energy from the water with low cost and damage, we may use it with solar panels to increase efficiency. Because it is important to save energy and money for companies.  
The other nature volunteer companies will compete with us and there is one project that is called Mr. Trash Wheel which is special for Harbour Sea. Actually, it is easy to see the differences and gaining of our project. Our project produces energy from the sun, serves for all the seas, increases efficiency and speed.



4.     OPERATIONAL DETAILS
For the operational details our product will be served in all over the world by having dealt with countries, governments and nongovernmental organizations. For human sources, we need some constructors to build our system with hand made. Now we all created the project by ourselves. We do not need a drawer because we already have drawn it by ourselves.  It can be seen in the figure. We will also need a team of maintenance service to repair the product if any cases happen. For the key partners, they will be the governments, nongovernmental organizations, and public.  Data analyses, controlling system, and communication of the system will be done by our group members.
As data analyses, the system will send the information that collected from areas to us then we will evaluate them. After evaluation system will be able to clean dirty places so that it won’t spend its energy on searching the dirty water. As controlling the system, a member of a group who is electric and electronic the engineer will control and check the system by using satellite communication. The codes will be written by members.

5.     MARKETING PLAN

5.1  Target Customer and Market
Since plastic pollution is a universal common problem, the total size of the market is really huge. As a result of researches, it has been found that plastic pollution in the oceans and seas causes billions of dollars of loss each year. However, living creatures from the seas provide 90 million tons of food to people every year. Fisheries, aquaculture, etc. are adversely affected by plastic pollution. The value of the marine ecosystem is £ 1.9. In this project, which we plan to do in order to reduce the negative effects of plastic pollution in the ocean, our target group is the governments and companies that will make plastic recycling. Our target customers, respectively governments, municipalities, that at least have costs to rivers, seas, and ocean. To be specific, geographic locations will be European, Asian, East countries.

        5.2 Distribution
We have designed and delivered a machine that monitors and operates automatically. We are going to offer Narwhal to the customers as a solution to plastic pollution by presentations, scientific papers, and its abilities, contact with the governors or environmental foundations to spread the reputation in terms of purpose.

       5.3 Pricing
For marinas and harbors, the Narwhal offers a way to collect garbage 24/7. Since it is a kind of employee 24 hours in a day, our pricing strategy fit (even cheaper) with what was revealed in our competitive analysis. In the pricing strategy, the environmental impact comes first, so we are going to maintain the cost affordably. In the beginning, we can sell Narwhal at cost. The cost which we charge a price will be about 3,000 euros for each Narwhal apparatus.

      5.4 Promotion/Advertising
The low‐cost methods to get the most out of our promotional budget can be considered as social media ads, newspaper ads. Therefore, it is decided that the customers which we aim to reach are governments so the advertising strategy will be executed via some environmental foundations and environment protection associations' activities. In addition to this, some scientific papers will be our advertising channel. Thus, we will get the word out to the governments. As for media advertising, the project will be advertised on Instagram, Facebook, some YouTube videos and also on TV. The reason for mixing those is that it will be presented to reach more customers in a short time.

6.     RISKS
Firstly, we can face the problem which is finding an investor. After that, our solution is innovative approaches to the Seabin project so maybe the project wouldn’t allow to use Narwhal. However, with the help of advertisements and presentation to angel investors and create a value for our project we can easily find investors. We should check Seabin patent if we want to make money from the Narwhal and maybe we can ask for permission or offer them a partnership. If we cannot deal with them so we can try to find a gap for using it.

Narwhal is a sustainable development solution that clean up oceans work with the principle water suction. Narwhal will suck the water into itself and while doing this, it will produce energy photosynthetically. It is eco-friendly and produces its own energy to execute itself so that it can be defined as energy neutral. It will be reached by all governments in order to reduce plastic pollution and save the ocean. It will be advertised on different platforms in order to get it out to customers. It will help the circular economic growth in a sustainable and harmless way.
